How would I go about locking edges for sculpting?

I’m trying to create a detailed 3D tile set for used in unreal engine 5. In the vain of the Baldur’s gate 1&2. However when checking tutorials it either sticks to simple box Geometry or severely outdated.

when checking tutorials, they normally go about locking vertices, however when sculpting the edges deform.
I can use materials and bump maps to do vast majority of the the fine work.

The best discussion I’ve seen on this. However I can’t seem the find the add-on.

I may be over thinking this.

I think you have to use mesh boundary automasking, in sculpt mode
