How would I go about modelling this hair that needs to then be attached to a rig?

So I have tried a few things - I tried sculpting it, but it doesn’t give me the precision to create these clean, flowing creases. I may not be good at it.

I then used curves to create all the strands, but then joining all the curves into one mesh caused problems with geometry so that when I use the ‘smooth’ sculpting tool for the crown of the head, it goes all messed up and causes problems.

I really like the juxtaposition of the sharp tips and more smoothed out hair at the top of the head.

Any pointers? I’ve been doing versions for hours. I want to achieve this exact hair model

Well… you already mentioned it… there are different ways to model hairs…

…and… somone must be experienced in it to make something good… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
