Yep, I’m fan of The Hulk movie, It was amazing to see Hulk like he should be, so massive and realistic. So I started creating Hulk’s head, mainly for texturing “study” and if I’m not too lazy, even animate whole head… quite a task.
So, modeling purist’s, be easy to me, I took quite normal head from Makehuman and started to make it Hulk’s head I think I’m starting to get Hulk (the movie) look to it, so here is first wip pics. And if you have any critics & tips, be free to say it.
scale that ear up a bit, its getting too small. you’ve also got some funny stuff around the lower nose/ mouth/ chin esp. in profile. I’d sculpt the chin a bit, and beef up the nostril area, plus I would n’t cave in the area right under the nose so much/ bring the jaw so much further. Right now the wussy and beefy are doing battle in that reagion, whereas in the movie, its all beef no wuss. Front view looks much better, though the nostril still needs work. maybe scuplt the cheek/jaw interaction to make him look more muscular- right now he has a tinge of fat to him.
I’m really impressed by the makehuman mesh- good base to start from.
Thanks for you all. Yes, there was little “super early bumpmap” stretching on the top of head, sorry for that
rush2049200: Paint on texture?? Yes, my plan is to make several texture layers, glossy, dirt, color, pimples, etc. If you mean that? Some may still be procedural but we’ll see as this goes on.
slikdigit: Thanks for tips, ear is quite proper in those pics, I have linked some reference pics at bottom of this post. I’ll continue sculping areas you mentioned.
It was somehow hard to get jaws to be wide enough Ear needs to be bit lower, just checked ref pics again. Neck is hard too as it is still starts too low from backside, he’s no pencil neck :). Many spots need attention right now, I’ll post more pics when I get some fixed.
Here is little update, now he is not that fat looking Jaw is closer to ear and ear is lowered a little. His skull is also smaller now and neck is way more higher from back.
yes that is what I meant, when you come to texturing in detail you are going to have to paint it on in areas but the overall skin you can get away with, it is very time consuming to get the right look. You may even have to pick him doing an action and paint him for that scene, very time consuming.
