Human Base Meshes 1.1 X-Mirror

Hi all!

I’ve tried to use the human base mesh blender demo files (version 1.1, downloaded today) and change the mesh. I tried to adjust the model, but the X-mirror doesn’t seem to work because it only moves single vertices on the opposite side.

I downloaded and unzipped the file, opened it in blender, exported it into a new asset lib, deselected “instance”, switched to edit mode, tried to change.

If I remove half of the model and use, then apply the mirror-modifier, the final model is ugly and deformed on the mirrored side.

Any hints what I do wrong? Thank you!

/edit: Sorry, forget some information: I’m using ArchLinux, Blender 4.1 (4.1.1-8) and tried the Realistic Models.

Welcome :tada:

What do you mean by:

This modle may not be totally symetric… try the option Tolopgy Mirror (directly right to the mirror (:butterfly: -like) icon and XYZ and Auto Merge icon )

and also:

The ugly part is in your responsibility… and wirth a mirror modifer the mirrowed side of course also deforms… ( ???)

You may have to elaborate this to get a more suited answer.

Hi! Thank you for your response. The “cut in half and mirror modifier”-problem was my fault. I had to remove the multires modifier first.

The models symmetrie may be the problem. I’ve attached an image to show what I mean. I use the mesh symmetrie in x axis. I couldn’t see a difference. Is there a tool to compare left/right?

If I use “mesh - symmetrize” it gets better. So I think your point is valid. Thank you.
