This artwork is part of my Fantastic Four fan art series, showcasing Galactus, the cosmic devourer from the Marvel Universe. This piece holds a special place for me — it’s the first time I modeled a character from scratch, starting with a base from Human Generator in Blender and then creating the armor, helmet, and all details of Galactus by myself.
My Process
I explored volumetrics and fog in Blender for the first time, which significantly impacted render times. My initial full-scene render at 1080x1320 got stuck at 0%, so I adapted by rendering in separate passes (PNG layers). However, when compositing, I ran into challenges where the character blended into the background — especially with screen or blending modes.
I experimented with various resolutions (1080x1320, 1080x1350, and finally 1080x1920) to get the right framing and detail. Eventually, I composited the background and character in Blender and exported the final image for post-processing in Picsart, where I enhanced it with optical flares, focal blur, and color effects to create a cosmic, powerful vibe.
Tools & Workflow
Base Model: Human Generator (Blender)
Modeling: Blender (armor, helmet, and all details)
Rendering: Blender (Eevee with volumetrics)
Compositing: Blender & Picsart
Post-Processing: Picsart (flares, blur, color grading)
This project pushed me to understand rendering limitations, compositing pipelines, and post-production creativity. It was a challenge and a learning curve — and I’m proud to present Galactus in this larger-than-life cosmic form.
