I can't for the life of me get a mesh to respond in pose mode

Hey guys,

I’ve got some arms parented to an armature, and everything works just fine there. However, I added a gun too (as a separate mesh) and it refuses to do anything when I move the bones that control it. I used armature deform when I parented it, and populated (and weighted) the vertex groups to match the bone names, but no matter what I do nothing happens in pose mode.

the gun is parented to the gun bone, as well as gun_charginghandle and gun_magazine.

I’m hoping I’m just being dumb, and not running into something deeper here :stuck_out_tongue:

You had deform disabled on the respective gun_* bones in the bone properties tab. :+1:

Ahhh, that makes sense. That’s what I get for duping a bone that already existed, instead of making them from scratch. Thank you so much!
