I have this extrude tool problem when following Blender Guru's donut 3.0 tutorial

I just started using Blender this week, so when i was following Blender Guru’s Blender 3.0 Donut Tutorial, I tried to make the icing with the extrude tool like he did
So I clicked the E button to extrude
Then this happened

Did I do anything wrong? Or maybe it was the settings? I rly need help tysm

did u used sub div surface modifier ? i think thats why there is that sharp edge try to do with subdiv surface
