I made free a software to assist 3D rendering post-processing phase

This is RePicturer.

https://github.com/Valdraath/repicturer

This software is made to handle post-processing tasks, such as denoising and upscaling.

  • Fully portable, no runtime enviroment needed.
  • Supports both Windows and Linux.
  • Run on Vulkan (means all AMD, NVIDIA, Intel GPUs are compatible)
  • 10 languages available.

This software can significantly help reduce rendering time, especially when using it for upscaling.

Imagine you need to render a set of 50 images:

  • Rendering at 4K: Each image takes around 5 minutes to render, or even longer if you’re using an older GPU. That’s at least 250 minutes in total.

  • Rendering at 1080p: Each image takes up to 2 minutes (around 100 minutes in total). Upscaling the images to 4K takes another 10 minutes, bringing the total to 110 minutes.

This means You get high-resolution renders or textures while saving around 140 minutes or more. This is especially meaningful for users who use older, less powerful GPUs that struggle with rendering at high resolutions.

Recommended Settings:

  • For upscaling renders/textures: I find NMKD Siax to be the best option. Upscaling by around x1.5 to x4 generally gives you the best level of details.

  • For denoising: Use Real-ESRGAN General or LSDIR Compact.

Pro-tips:

  • Render at a moderate resolution (like 1080p or 2K), while maintaining the highest possible detail and output quality.

  • Then upscale the images using NMKD Siax. Again, the sweet spot is usually around x1.5 to x4.

And boom, you get high-quality images at high resolutions, with significantly less rendering time.
