I need help for cloth banner released down from the building

Happy xmass for all. I have stuck on a project. I need your suggestions. I need make a fabric banner, wich released through the roof of a building. I made a version with spiral curve and curve modifier to rollup the fabric plane. But banner looks like the carpet and it was hard to full open.I increased the vertex mass to something 10kg (lower mass value cant open the roll) but fabric is too thick. Customer wants thin cotton banner fabric. By the way I found a referance. The desired effect is exactly something like this

Have you tried putting a heavy cylinder in the middle of the fabric roll and letting it run through the cloth sim or the soft body?

Thanks for the answers. The simulation is like this right now. I think it works. But I want more drapery on fabric. How can I do this easily?

Create your PIN groups like on the Video…Rope to the sides and 4 Vertices picked across the top, then scale in a bit to help with some folds and shape…a bit of force will help as well as take the cloth into weight paint and add weight to areas you want more softness and those you want to be stiffer.
