I need help with modeling this base mesh!

Hello all! I recently started the world of Blender again, I made a model and I don’t know if the topology is good enough, could someone kind help me fixing this model please?

It would be helpful to download the file below for the topology of the human body.

The link is broken, here are is the ref image I used:

I modified the link (free download available)
When making the human body, the edges are uniform and fit well with muscle movement to prevent twisting or wrinkles.

Ok, I downloaded the files, what should I do now? what does it have to do with my file?

You study the mesh you downloaded to see how the topology is built.

Houston we have a problem! When I open the downloaded meshes savefile Blender crashes! what can I do?

If you mean the asset bundle you need at least Blender version 3.65 to open it.

If you model it the same way with the Retopology method, you can learn more.

I would probably recommend starting over from scratch. Don’t feel bad doing it, everyone’s first character model looks bad and has terrible topology unless they followed a tutorial (in which case, it still probably looks bad, but MIGHT have decent topology. First characters almost always look bad).

The Blender base meshes are okay, but I’m pretty sure they’re meant more for sculpting than animating.

For character modelling turorials, here are my standard suggestions: Ponder Studios, the Blenderella course creator, has uploaded the Blenderella tutorials free on her own channel (I’d put it on x0.25 speed during the timelapses because they’re FAST and it’s hard to follow). CGCookie’s female character modeling series isn’t in a neat little playlist but I think it might be easier to follow, there’s also a face topology breakdown here. You can find both of Dikko’s tutorial series here, and there’s also this series by Tomcat , which I’ve seen people get good results doing.
