I’m having trouble with the eyes on my simple character.
The eye sockets are just empty holes, and I’m trying to fit spheres in for the eyes, but they aren’t adjusting correctly no matter what I do. The best it can look like is if it’s all the way in the back of the head or inside, which isn’t conventional. The spheres don’t seem to fit or align properly within the sockets. Any tips on how to fix this? Id like to keep it simple as well. It might seem like a silly question but Im stuck.
Can you share some screenshots?
just updated it heh was having trouble doing so
Your character is heavily stylized, I don’t think spheres are going to work right. You’ll went something much closer to a curved plane. Look up pictures of Sonic the hedgehog, for instance.
Scale the spheres so they look right- there will be a lot of the spheres poking out the side of the head, delete all the faces except the ones in the sockets.
To animate the eyes, don’t actually move the eyes, just animate the texture or UV coordinates on them
Hm… I think that’s my issue, I tried to put in a sphere but my socket is angled or curved I see what you mean though I had a similar thought process but didn’t see much people doing it.
So should I mimic a sphere with a plane? to help get a better image of my project; my idea was similar to the “kidz bratz” from the sleepover adventure movie.
Thank you btw!
See how the eye is just a curved plane here? Honestly, you could probably cheat a bit and make it even easier on yourself- grid fill in the eye sockets, separate those faces. And if you wanted a bit more curvature extruding outward, select a middle vertex on both eyes and press Alt + S (make sure proportional editing is on) to Inflate
dude you’re a genius you’re so right XD I spent the last hour trying to rotate a sphere lmaoo
I just kept quitting and going back to it haha thank you will do! that’s what I been doing just extruding and separating will def make it easier for me tyyyy :')
We’ve all spent hours trying to do things the hard way, no worries good luck!
