I want to make it so that my ambience occlusion node is colored by normal shadow coloring, instead of me having to manually choose colors in the color ramp its connected to. Is this possible?
I need this because I bake alot of color swatches, and it is extremely tedious to have to manually alter the color ramp each time so that the AO matches the main shadows on my objects. I have tried mixing, and blending, and overlaying, and multiplying, ect ect, to no avail. It’s still a pain.
Is there a way that I could just make it so that my AO behaves behaves like a shadow?
Notice how the AO is a bit too dark? It doesn’t look like shadow, it looks like soot. I just want to increase the AO without having to use the color ramp, as it requires me to manually pick a color in place of the black. I wish the black parts were shadow colored. Idk how more to explain it.
Instead of changing the base color directly, use the ambient occlusion as the factor for a Mix node set to Multiply where both colors are the base color you want. This way, you’ll multiply the color by itself by ambient occlusion, so the shadow won’t be black but will be a darker version of the base color
