Hi all,
I wonder if it is possible choose an external icon to represent a plug-in instead of the default one (i.e. the one in add --> mesh --> “plugin name”).

i too would like that very much!
you can currently use any icon that is in Blenders icon set, but not external icons yet.
Here is an image I take a look at when I am writing a new script. There are more as well. Check out the display icons script that comes with Blender. development_icon_get.py
