I'd be interested to know your opinion about my artwork

Hello everyone, friends! I’m delighted to introduce you to my latest project. Meet this large combat Robot, the result of my work in Blender and Substance Painter.

I began with modeling in Blender, creating both low poly and high poly versions of the Robot. Then, I proceeded to texture it in Substance Painter. The most captivating part of my project was bringing the Robot to life through animation, all done using Blender. The outcome is a meticulously detailed Robot with walking animation.

I’m a student of professional 3D animation, constantly striving for excellence. I’d be interested to know your opinion about my work.

Hi, welcome to our forum

As for the student, I have to admit, your work looks very impressive though! Especially I liked how you ended up with the textures’ paint. They’re very detailed.

Yet you could’ve improved your animation side of it. I am not an animation expert at the end of the day, but kinda feel that that part might’ve been improved a bit, in my humble opinion.

As for the rest - great work!

It’s okay to be a little lacking if the animation progresses smoothly, but the animation that breaks the flow seems unsettling from the perspective of the viewer.

※ Since I am not an English user, I don’t know if the meaning has been accurately conveyed. :slightly_smiling_face:

this is a great highly-detailed model. The rendering and lighting are great. On the animation side, I would just suggest speeding up the motion. Aside from the machine guns, the robot is moving so slowly, that I could just “walk away” to out-run this: that diminishes the perceived threat. Go more “Boston Dynamics” where the robot can run/hop/jump faster than a human, and then I think we will really be in trouble from this.

I think oo_1942 is suggesting the clip-editing is a little too jumpy. Because we are still learning the parts of your robot, it’s initially hard to distinguish front-view from back-view. The camera jumps make it harder for me to understand from where am I looking. It’s ok to have a lot of cuts, but try to keep us better oriented in space.

Overall, you’re doing great! I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future!

Renderella?!? The Princess of Rendering?

The renders are great. The animation is good too, but it’s a tiny bit lifeless. Maybe add some more moving parts or something. Not sure. But it’s good regardless.
