I'm trying to export to another format...

I wanted to upload something to shapeways.com, but I’m seeming to have trouble trying to get blender to export to one of the available formats.

I click the object I want to export, then click File>>Export>>X3D Extensible 3D. It then gives me three options, and when I click on one of them, nothing happens.

I’m running Ubuntu 8.04 and Blender 2.47.

I find obj to be the most portable format between 3d applications, for meshes.

Do you have the objects selected when you export? Some of the exporters seem to like that.
