Import/Export Node Sheets?

I don’t know the correct term, but is there any way to export/import node setups?

Or do you have to link an existing blend file and extract the material into a new mesh?

You can append node groups (add the nodes to a group) or materials from a saved blend file to the current open blend file (File / Append menu)

Don’t forget you can use CTRL+C and CTRL+V, this works in the 3d view when grabbing objects and the node editor. Info is saved to a buffer, you can navigate other .blends and it’ll stay there. It’s impressive how long it’ll stay in the buffer. Leave a ‘prep material’ in your start up file scene and grab that from time to time. I’ve just started to save time this way myself.

I just think it would be nice to be able to keep a folder of textures that you could dive into whenever you wanted. Although I can see problems where textures include images, or object references.
