Import multiple OBJ files for Blender 2.8 - 3.x

Hi @poor, thanks for your reply.
For my personal purposes it is much quicker and more useful to see only the *.obj files in the browser.

Since “:” symbol/operator run correctly in the version 2.9x, I still prefer to go ahead in this way.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate the work you’ve done.
Thanks again!

:+1: why is this not standard, super cool works fine
also in the 2.93 :+1:

+1 broken in 3.1 too

It’s a pity that it no longer works in 3.x,
But then import it in an earlier version and then insert/append
it as a collection in the current one.

Hello and thank you very mush for this addon , works great on blender version 3.1.2!

Tells you what line of the code to fix, after googling… claims he’s not a coder.

You’re underpaid, is what you are.

Is it possible to modify the addon to place the objects from imported FBX-files into individual collections named after the file? One file might contain multiple objects.

TYSM!!! for this ADD ON…works in 3.2!!!

Thanks…really helpful

Thanks sharing this addon wtih us, Big King!

Hi all,

I just revised the add-on for Blender 3.2+ and decided to create a dedicated repository to keep track of all the changes over the years, which makes the download for each version easier as well:

Blender Current Version Release
Blender 2.65+ 0.1.0 Download
Blender 2.80+ 0.2.0 Download
Blender 2.92+ 0.3.0 Download
Blender 3.2+ 0.4.0 Download
Blender 3.3+ 0.5.0 Download
Blender 3.4+ 0.6.1 Download
Blender 3.5+ 0.7.0 Download

Note: Version 0.3.0 still works in Blender 3.2+ if the old importer by Campbell and Bastien is enabled in the preferences.

Repository: github.com/p2or/blender-batch-import-wavefront-obj
Original Q&A: How to batch import Wavefront OBJ files?
Blenderartists: Batch import wavefront .obj

Cheers,
Christian

Hi, thanks for this very useful.
Is there a way to retain the file labeling unmodified after import?
Thanks

Hey, this seems to work but for me it is multiplying z axis by about 4. So stuff looks extruded by z height a ton. Normal obj importer is not doing this. Wonder if anyone else has this issue. Thanks, or maybe I’m doing it wrong? Working on 3.5.1

Please update for 4.0
