i imported anobj object into blender
and got let 6000 vertices after clean up
but most of the vertices are in the center of the object and inside the volume
like a 3D grid
so is there a way to get rid onf inside vertices ?
Thanks

Same way as always, select them and hit X.

how about that ?
i tried the non manifold but it destroye the mesh totaly - a real mess this time
i tried decimator but too many non manifod faces
thanks
Ah, I thought they were all at the same location. That’s not a mesh, it’s a mess!

well it is supposed to be a 3D voronoi mesh texture
but need to remove some of the larger vertices values to make it smaller
i guess problem with the obj import script may be
but it 's looking like voronoi
i just discovered that you need to Alt-S to clear the scale and here the pic
i also may have to rework the script to get less faces on it
would look better with a lot less vertices if possible
thanks
but what are you trying to do exactly?
this is to make a 2D or 3D voronoi texture mesh
but it’s using an outside program and scripts ot do it
and have to import the obj object in blender as wavefront obj
then you get the mesh texture as voronoi
now i got this one 2D voronoi imported scale cleared
but till having a problem with one vertex that seems to be unselectable in blender
what can be done to erase that edge or vertex to bhave a small voronoi texture
see pic and file
Thanks
Box select the vertices you want to keep. Use Ctrl+I to inverse the selection then X / delete vertices.
Richard
i tried that it does not select the edge or vertex for this very long edge?
i tried to increase vewiport to max 10000 but does not work either!
any other suggestion to make it select this hugely long edge?
Thanks
sorry got the wrong file here
if i press on home eveything is gone nothing in sight ?
ok got it i selectd the middle then invers select and it works now
but still how come you cannot select if the dge is too big ?
here it is
Thanks
You can select it if you set the view clipping distance to 10,000, use Shift+C to view the whole object and box select the edges. http://www.screencast.com/users/blenderwho/folders/Jing/media/556a34a6-b8a8-4bce-902f-fefeba8bbe98

shift c is showing the whole thing
but when i got into edit mode the object disappear!
this is one is a tough cookie !
Thanks
