Import rigged model from Maya to Blender?

Is there any way to import a rigged model from Maya to Blender? Anisculpt can import export vertex cache. Do you know other ways?

try collada.

it’s worth trying 2.4x and 2.5 for this as collada import got an overhaul for 2.5 and supports different features to the 2.4x one…

also there’s the “md2” format that supports meshes and animation… not tried either method myself, I usually go the other way, blender —>maya (for which the fbx exporter is best, but blender only exports fbx, it doesn’t import it…)
