Importing animated mesh to Blender causes weird artifacts in animation

I’m importing an animated mesh from Unreal to Blender and while the animation plays fine in Unreal and the Windows 3D viewer, it’s showing this weird artifact in Blender

Any fix for this?

It shows up fine in Windows 3D Viewer

And in Unreal

OK so it seems the pelvis bone is getting removed for some reason when importing to Blender. Not sure how to fix this. Help pls

skeleton didn’t have root bone. reimporting caused the pelvis to become the root and “disappear” idk

Added root bone, retargeted animation in UE4 and reimported. Works now
