importing files from inventor

Anyone know how can i import a file made in the Inventor to the blender?

I’m not a Inventor user so, i don’t know much about it, but i think that the extension of the file is “.ipt”.

tanks in advance!

did you try searching the forums? simply typing in “inventor” would give you some hits.

there are other threads to look in, but I recently replied to this one:

…my suggestion may work or may not… depending on if you can even export as something else… nonetheless, let us know.

Oh! Tanks!

I’ll try to remember this before my next newbie question!

Sorry for the inconvenience!

hi,

at the moment there is no way to exchange data straight between inventor and blender, but a there’s a “detour” over the DXF-format.
inventor can export this format, so you only have to try getting the model in DXF.
but you’ll lose some data when exchanging data from CAD software to a 3D animation suite, however its name should be…
