The title says it pretty much. I want to copy/instance an object onto the vertices of another object, idealy taking the normals of the recieving vertices into account to orient the instances properly.
Is there such a feature in Blender?

You’re probably wanting dupliverts. There is a cube in the center that you can’t see. I selected the cube first and then the sphere and hit Ctrl+p to parent, and on the sphere in the instancing tab selected verts and align to normal.
Works, thanks. Now all that’s left is to figure out how to make each instance an individual object.
