Today for no obvious reason - when I move/rotate objects in the viewport, or move a blender dialogue box across the screen it starts to move smoothly as usual, then freezes for about 0.25 of a second and then starts again. Very annoying when you are in the viewport rotating etc.
It only happens in Blender (other apps and windows seem fine).
I have updated video drivers etc. System is Win11, 4090, 32Gb.Blender 4.1.1. Happens with or with out the 3d Connexion drivers running.
It makes no difference whether the scene is empty, is the default cube scene or one that has numerous polys in.
Cheers for the replies - It happens regardless of what else I am running - and also from a clean boot. I am running bitdefender and have done for years but I can try killing that. Other apps run fine - seems to be very Blender specific but appreciate it might something else somewhere that only affects blender’s UI.
It’s not autosave as it stutters regularly but frequently . If I rotate an object or drag a UI component it will rotate/move smoothly and every 1/3 of a second it will stop and then start again from the position the rotation or the move would have been if there was no judder. Then it goes through the same loop again.
Partitions are not full.
It’s a weird one. Maybe I ned to uninstall blender and plugins and go from scratch to see if a vanilla install stops it happening. If it does then maybe I can isolate fault by adding one plugin at a time.
You also could just disable all extra addons. Wasn’t there something about an addon which connect to the internet and this could get hickups when ti can’t connect (some asset downloading thingy) ?
Thanks for the additional thoughts. Found the problem. I have installed the alpha of a plugin which I then completely forgot about. Disabled that plugin and problem solved. I feel a bit of an idiot now! I blame me age
I will report to the developer. Thanks for the support everyone.
