I used Gimp for dof ( I know this type of interior render dosn’t need dof) it was my first try at it I also tried to add a soft glow I am not trying for realisim just some thing intresting to look at.

Very nice!! I have a living room like that! (shoebox like with single big window at on end.) 
I’d be interested in the .blend to play with and to maybe model my living room in. After all, lighting and general architecture is already set up! 8)

I went ahead and regiserd on that site it looks like a good 3-d fourm any way I have more renders on that thread. go ahead and try the chalenge I dont think these guys have alot of knowlage of blender I would like it if some one with some more skill than I have would make a great render.
my render has one area light and one rayspot I did some with a lamp in the room to lighten up the sceene but the textures look better when you cant see them. :-?
