Interior renderings - Augusto Cezar AN Archviz

Hello everyone, My name is Augusto Cezar and have been already worked with archviz for some time but I’ve been struggling to improve the quality of my work. So I started working hard to improve the quality of my work and here is the final result. I’ll keep to work to improve even more.

Your projector is gonna have some funky shadows from that ceiling lamp!

how did you set up the lights and environment?

I think you won’t belive me but… I just put some area lights in front of the windows and the world color is white.
I wrote a tutorial for blender nation about this scene.
Soon you’ll be able to see how I made it :slight_smile:

I really do like the quality of the lighting yet I am surprised to read that each window has an area light (not set to portal I presume). I can’t help but wonder if this approach not play havoc with shadows i.e. wont they be going in all directions?

I’d like to be able to produce similar lighting to an interior office scene I am working on however it has windows on 4 walls so I’m curious if I should only place area lights at openings on 2 walls and the opposing walls left without, or should I place them on all walls but use lower power values?
