Interior visualization skills

Hi everyone

This is a project I announced when I first started learning / improving my interior visualization skills — and I’m happy to finally share the progress.
The goal was to go through the full workflow:

I’m sharing a few breakdown views (clay, lighting, materials) along with the final render to show the progression and decisions made along the way.

Everything was done in Blender, and this project really helped me better understand:

  • interior lighting balance
  • material consistency
  • scene readability

Feedback is very welcome — especially on lighting, composition, and realism.
Thanks for taking a look

The composition is nice, and the overall detailing is fairly well executed.

some issues I see:
Scale inconsistencies - The stairs look huge, or the door is tiny. The floor planks are enormous, the coffee table dead center is awkwardly far away from the couch.

Also the light fixtured on the wall look like outdoor lights. and placing on directly above the TV seems like an odd decision, as the viewer would be staring directly at a light and squinting the whole time.

The fill lights are very obvious and throw the realism off a bit. the glow from through the door and underneath the cupboard are nice though.
