Interstellar spaceship

Humanity’s first human-rated interstellar spaceship, now orbiting and ready to venture the stars.

Here with the superheated antimatter engine and heat dissipators.

Both the spaceship and the earth are done in blender but rendered separately. Post composition done in Davinci Resolve & Gimp.

For the earth shots I used Samuel Krug video tutorial.
Feedback and advice are welcome.
I plan on doing an animation with the engine firing.

This definitely reminds me – in a very good way – of the Discovery One spaceship of the very-original 2001: A Space Odyssey movie. A craft that never intended to be a warship, and never intended to be able to “land.” Nicely done.

Overall, the modeling is rather simplistic - not a criticism, it’s the nature of what you’re targeting to create. But you’ve done great with the materials, lights, and comp - such that the simplicity of the model just ceases to be a factor.

Reminds me of the Valley forge a bit! (silent Running)

Thanks! Didn’t think of the Discovery One when I made this but now that you say it I see the resemblance. I actually drew inspiration from the ISV Venture star in the movie Avatar, various artworks and a ship I made in Kerbal Space program haha.

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
