Irregular Gap/Spliting

Is there a way to fill this gap or possibly split relative to another surface. See the image for better understanding.


assuming that the edgeloops of both parts line up roughly, you can simply use brigde from the looptools addon.
(the mentioned split isn’t possible directly (at least i think so, maybe already in bmesh) but there are some workarounds like using the shrinkwrap modifier on a designated vertex group)
