I was wondering is it possible to flip an object across an axis similar to how Microsoft Office mirrors a clip art image? Take for example: a mesh with everything going in the right direction. Is their any way to duplicate and flip the object where everything would go in the left direction without having to make an entirely new mesh object? I have tried the mirror option on object mode but all it does is spin the object around the axis and not actually reverse the mesh.

ctrl-M in edit mode, and then x/y/z or whatever you want.
edit: I might not get your problem…

Ctrl+M mirrors the object across an axis, it doesn’t spin it
Please supply screenshots of example scene that clearly shows what you have before and what you want at the end.
Or: in object mode, place 3d cursor where your mirror will stay, choose pivot point to be 3d cursor, Shift-d to duplicate object and Ctrl-m to mirror along x,y or z against 3d cursor’s position.
Edit: you can use xx, yy, zz for to mirror on object’s local axis and even use middle mouse button to choose which axis you need.
I figured it out thanks to Eppo. Can’t believe it was that easy.
