Is it possible to overlay or onion skin keyframes of different elements?

When you keyframe the main movement of a character’s body or arms, those keyframes disappear when you select another part of the character to animate.

This makes it hard if you want to animate a hand movement that is slightly behind or trails the main movement of the arms.

Is it possible to overlay or onion skin keyframes of different elements in order to be able to see and style one animation to another?

In the Timeline view, there’s an option on the View menu: Only Show Selected.
If you switch that off, then you’ll see all the keys.

You can have the timeline and the Action Editor/Dopesheet open at the same time. That way, you can see all the keys together in the timeline, and the Action Editor won’t be too busy, only showing you keys for what you have selected.

The Sync Visible Range option on the View menu will keep the two views lined up as you zoom and pan around.

Oh wow. This is great. Thanks @magpie. I’ll give it a whirl!
