My seams and groups are all lost after I apply a boolean modifier, does anyone know a work around for this? Thanks in advance.
I found this report, which indicates that it is not currently possible, except with UV’s and Vcol’s. It includes a workaround, but it only work on faces, i.e. vertices that don’t create a face are still lost. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I found a suitable workaround. Seams can be created from islands, which are not lost when using the boolean modifier. You will of course have to UV unwrap to create the islands, then after applying the boolean, select “Seams from islands” in the UV editor. This will restore the manifold seams.
good solve. a better one is to just not use the boolean modifier in the first place
