I already know that you can deconstruct a object into basic shapes and sewing pattern blocks for stuffed animals, but is there a free add-on that one can use to downright replace CLO3D? I am trying to look for free, safe, easy-to-use options that can help me simulate, assemble and modify actual 1D drafted sewing pattern blocks into practically functional clothing patterns. Is there such a free add-on that can help out on this subject? It would really help me out a lot.
Its not free, but the only thing I know of that comes close is Garment Tool. It’s waaaaaayyyy cheaper than a CLO3d subscription though.
Personally, for my use (games mostly) I found it easier to just keep sculpting cloth, because I find that blenders cloth sim does a lot of weird crinkly stuff I don’t really like. But it does have tools for drawing patterns and stiching/sewing and fitting them easier than default blender.
I also have to mention of course, that you can make garments from patterns in default blender too, of course. Bartoszstyperek just makes it significantly less aggravating with Garment Tool.
Heres how its done in default blender: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f5RgG_Yywg It’s an older video, but I don’t think anything has changed.
