i get quite tired of people complaing they don’t have a new cj, or blender 2.28.
can’t you get off your lazy arse AND MAKE IT YOUR BLOODY SELF!!
blender is opensource, it’s our job to keep it going. the cj can be made by anybody. go make one your self instead of spamming the boards.

valid question at that. If you were in
control of Blender, I imagine we would
never have a version 2.28. Let’s say,
at least an official version. Many people
here don’t know how to program, or
aren’t overly skilled at writing. (myself
being one of the not skilled at writing)
Many of these people at elysiun are merely
artists, and can’t afford to pay for a full-featured
3d program.
The CJ’s are entertaining, and sometimes, even
informative.
You said “blender is opensource, it’s our job to keep it going.”
My response to that, is: think larger than that.
Not everyone who uses Blender wants to be
an active member of the commuinnty. For the
most part, that is thier loss.

Don’t offer to do something for someone, then not.
I am not saying that the moderators or whoever
are lazy or being slow. I very much realize how hard
and time consuming programming a website it.
I am doing it myself, in php, and even though it
is fairly simple, it is tough.
Anyway, my point for that paragraph is:
Things that are offered to the community
should not be a product of the community.
They should be a present to it. Naturally though,
a member(s) of the community have every right
to do something for the community, but it should
not be the responsibility of the rest of them…
Ok, I’ll just go back to my peacfull ways now.

so i dispute that ANYONE can make the CJ, because if they did then it would need to be called the ICJ or the NCJ

the thing is YES YOU CAN write your own articles, but NO it can’t be called the CJ (it techniqually could, but it would be miss representing the ORIGINAL CJ)
unless goofster says anyone could rite THE CJ then i presume he would be pretty pissed if someone took it.
perhaps Goofster wouldn’t mind someone else writting it, but thats up to him to say.

ehem. writing the CJ isnt the problem, Goofster already said that elysiun’s cms isnt complete yet. we always need some ppl who write articles for the CJ, if you want to write one, PM or e-mail Goofster or me.
actually the current CJ is already done, there’s just this problem with publishing it…

i can’t see how people can complain that something is not ready yet seeing that it is a service that someone else supplies. You should be happy that goofster is even willing to do it, that there are people there that give such a lot to the community. but you shouldn’t force them. it’s just not right.

I almost got the urge to make a CJ on the spot, even if it meant ripping the current CJ template…I mean, what does a GJ contain? Artwork? Airman, and all the other good renders you can find in the Finished Projects forum. Meet the Blenderheads? Hmm, that could be a tough one…i nominate S68 to be this month’s BlenderHead. 2-3 quick PMs and it’s done…Tutorials? Landis’ Texturing tutorial and any other tutorial related to Yable/Yafray. Blenderchat quotes? afraid I can’t help you there…but I can point you over to www.bash.org …
That said, I realize it’s impossible for us users to make a CJ, we should encourage the experienced CJ writers (mainly by letting them do their jobs) to write new ones…
