Jeep's sculpting sketchbook

ooh! so the technique inthis thread, using padfoot’s method and the images madcow provided turned out really nice! here’s the first render, it took ~90 seconds

ok I rendered out a bunch of different mats using techniques from this thread
[_seahorse07.png"]red wax](http://speedmodeling.org/smcfiles/Jeepster)
[_seahorse01.png"]orange
[_seahorse02.png"]green](http://speedmodeling.org/smcfiles/Jeepster)
[_seahorse03.png"]black
[_seahorse04.png"]metal](http://speedmodeling.org/smcfiles/Jeepster)
[_seahorse06.png"]shiney red

i’ll render out a turntable if i can decide which material to stick with

Great work with that seahorse! To me red wax looks best material for turntable.

thanks jiii
the redwax does look nice, but I went ahead and rendered out the orange one first
check it out!

Your best to date. I hope you expand on that little wipper snapper, it could go really well in the right kind of scene.

I absolutely love the croc. You really can feel the texture.

thanks  good to hear you liked it
doing a scene would be cool, although that’d take a lot of work - i think i’ll save this one for later when i have the time (classes start next week)
anyway here’s the timelapse i recorded:

Holy cow you’ve nailed that, it looks like a 3d scan of the real thing.

Wow, I loved the croc, but this last one is perfect!

I like how much detail you’ve drawn in the skin

If the iguana was done in 2.49 and was all sculpted one could say you’re lying and that was in Zbrush, because Blender couldn’t handle that many polys.

Just shows how big a leap sculpting got in 2.5.

Wow! That iguana is incredible !

Now you must bake and texture this.

wow, your really good!!!
