Jellyfish

Jellyfish

For the CGBoost “Underwater” challenge made in the past, I’ve decided to get involved and participate by creating some artwork.

Brainstorming & Concept

For the first stage I got into CSP for drawing some original concepts of what I could create.

I really liked the underwater concept, sadly I didn’t have that much time for creating all aspects needed for that one, so I decided to go for the “Hunting Jellyfish” one.

Hehe I should have continued uploading this project long ago, but this wasn’t an easy year. So, I really liked the Underwater concept, it was the most complete and complex of them all. Sadly I had little time for the contest so I chose Hunting Jellyfish as the way to go.

Most of my time was spent on the Jellyfish, I wanted to create a procedural glowing material for it.

Using this After Effects Tutorial as a reference, I translated it all into a node-system in the Blender’s Shader Editor.

And this was the end result of it.

For the scene itself I tried several colors

And this was the final result, sent to the contest.

I gotta say, this extra version focusing on the jellyfish isn’t bad at all. <3
