Jet Racing Game

Hello everyone, i am making a game SIMILAR to Star Wars Racer. It am not copying it and the concept is totally different.
However the shape of the vehicles are the same, with two engines and a small cockpit.
My question is this, I want it so my engines have all the force and the cockpit follows loosely. I have tried making the racer one object and rigging it so it animates in the turns, but that’s not the look I’m going for.
I need it so that the cockpit and the connection wires follow it nicely, and when it goes around the corner it swings a bit.
I don’t know if this is possible, but i was hoping to use suspension, like that you would use on a car rig, for my connection wires and have the cockpit set as rigid body. I don’t know what will work so any help would be much appreciated.

You could try slow parenting the cockpit to an empty centered 'tween the engines…
