Jungle Dome Village

Role: 3D Environment Artist & Level Designer

Software Used: Blender, Unreal Engine, Adobe Substance Painter

Project Overview

Jungle Dome Village is a vibrant, optimized, top-down environment designed specifically for mobile gaming. The level features a network of tropical islands connected by wooden bridges, populated by futuristic dome-shaped eco-habitats. The goal of this project was to establish a complete pipeline: taking a stylized concept from initial 3D block-out and asset modeling all the way to an interactive, engine-ready level and its corresponding in-game vector UI map.

Production Process & Pipeline

  • Phase 1: Modeling & Texturing (Blender) Designed and modeled all modular assets, including the signature dome houses, wooden bridges, rocky cliffs, and tropical vegetation (palm trees and jungle foliage). Focused heavily on low-poly optimization to ensure smooth performance on mobile hardware while maintaining distinct silhouettes. High-quality stylized materials were created and applied to give the environment a clean, welcoming aesthetic.
  • Phase 2: Level Assembly & Interactivity (Unreal Engine) Imported the optimized assets into Unreal Engine to assemble the final layout. Using a top-down camera perspective, I composed the islands to balance visual appeal with clear player navigation. To make the world feel alive and game-ready, I implemented a series of interactive objects, gameplay triggers, and dynamic actors across the paths.
  • Phase 3: UI Map Creation (Vector/Cartoon Style) To complete the mobile game experience, I translated the 3D layout into a 2D vector-style user interface map. Using the exact proportions, path layouts, and asset placements from the 3D render, I designed a clean, borderless cartoon map. This 2D asset is designed to serve as an in-game mini-map or level-selection screen, perfectly bridging the gap between 3D gameplay and 2D UI design.
