Really nice. I am no expert so I cannot comment on the tech stuff. For me… if I am going for realism… I ask myself… does this look like a photo?
I have seen comments about lighting, composition… however in the real world… that could be a real place, in a spot like that. I have seen little houses in some of the strangest spots where you would not think a house would go. I come from a small town in western Pennsylvania… we have plenty of little homes on hillsides in the trees and some near streams. Just like yours 
I really like it and wish I could create a scene like that. I think I have one field with one tree and some clouds that looks photo-realistic… However… as I play with lighting… mist and other little effects… not sure I am making things better or worse.
Art is subjective… Picaso… really? I mean one of the greats and I don’t care for it. Aside from the technical stuff… my stuff is my art… some will like it… some will not. My toons are a prime example… Some say they are scary… like deformed dwarfs… other think they are cute as hell.
Anyway… I’m babbling… LOL… Great work!!! I love it!

As for your own artwork, I think you should trust your own artistic vision and create work that reflects your own feelings.

Yes… I create for me. Where I would love for everyone to enjoy my creations, I am a realist and know that no matter what I create… some will not like it. It’s ok. There is a lot out there that I find total garbage that the somehow becomes popular.
