.. Just a "LofiGirl Tribute" - Attempt to reproduce an image by Juan Pablo Machado (Youtube)

Or how to try to reproduce an image with BLENDER.

For a banner.
~ ~ ~
Perhaps by some “chance” YouTube algorithm, I stumbled upon this LoFi Girl video, whose visual style I really liked. So, as a personal test, I wanted to see if I could recreate it. It was also because I wondered about the origin of the original image: who creates this kind of thing and how? Is it digital painting or 3D? With added 2D characters? To this day, I still don’t know any more.
[And then AI made its entrance (…) we’ve been warned about its arrival for ages, haven’t we?]
But anyway, I recreated this image.

The idea wasn’t, of course, to create a strict, exact reproduction (otherwise I would have tried to draw the character, which would have taken me back to a very old personal tendency towards drawing… which wasn’t so bad, actually, if only to save electricity and, more or less, reduce carbon emissions… All other considerations—and other possible wishful thinking—aside […]): but to get as close as possible, while respecting the “spirit” of the original image AND with BLENDER(!?!).

  • However, the MPFB add-on and then Daz-Studio for the character solved this.
Voili voilà - as we say here.

Once again—since it’s a reproduction—10% of the credit goes to me (more or less, or even less if you prefer) and 90% to the true author of the original image.
Just a test.

Ha! → Good party(s) for all us!
Without it being an obligation, fundamentally [principle of reality].

And a view of relatively little use.

A problem to report - Thanks if you have any information to share:

  • I couldn’t achieve a 100% direct, pure Blender render; I had to use Photoshop editing. The reason: the glass shader. Either it reduced the amount of outside light entering the image (method 1), or the incoming light was fine, but the “fake god rays” became invisible (method 2, which I ultimately used).
I couldn’t fix it. The primary reason, I believe, is that I was using a volume of fake god rays for the first time (images below).

    For glass shader(s).

And “Fake god rays” shader (in a cone mesh) ~ ~ ~ ?

After a more thorough reading of the Wikipedia entry, I found the author of the image, and perhaps of the images in general for the “Lofi Girl” posts: Juan Pablo Machado.
Please excuse my ignorance, if necessary.

→ Is not knowing how to choose between two images proof of not being an “artist”?
I tend to prefer the first one, thinking that “the others” might prefer the second… [?]
