I finished the actual keyboard about four months ago. When modeling, it was convenient since I am using the exact keyboard so it wasn’t too hard to just copy off my own keyboard.
The hardest part was the keys caps! I had to make every individual icon for each key since I was not able to find any texture or ANYTHING online for the keys. I am happy with it, but that part was pretty tedious.
Of course after creating the keyboard a few months back, I look back and wish I could have done a few things differently, but it is the way it is sometimes. I decided to take this model and create a scene as a reason/motivation to learn more about procedural texturing and lighting. This is what I came up with. All was rendered in cycles.
