Keychron K2 v2 Keyboard

Man, i love mechanical keyboards. In this project, I was aiming for a more solid, adult, and fancy look of Keychron K2 v2. So I made keycaps dark and glossy because black and glossy things automatically feel strict and stylish :>

I was inspired by cool guys and gals of Behance and wanted to try to make a product visualization project too. It turned out not that perfect, but at least i know the workflow now, and it was a good study :>

Wow, thank you!

Thatā€™s excellent, and indeed, very stylish ā€“ more stylish than the real thing.

(Though I suspect if Blender had feelings they would be a little hurt when modeling a keyboard without a number pad.)

this is spectacular!

Thank you! I appreciate it! :>

Thank you!!

I bought this exact same keyboard just a month ago. Itā€™s awesome, and so clicky!

Itā€™s not as bad as youā€™d think. Since I use the ~ key for viewport navigation, the only thing that bothered me was missing out on grow and shrink selection with ctrl+ and -, which was easily fixed with a quick key rebinding.

Amazing work.
Could you share the plastic node(shader)?

Youā€™re on the #featured row! :+1:

Itā€™s amazing how objects as ā€œsimpleā€ as a keyboard or a glass, sometimes give a more interesting result than renders that have very complex objects.

That looks way better than most of the commercial product renderings Iā€™ve seen.

As bit of an inside joke I have to comment: nice work making ABS caps look desirable.

Though speaking of the keycaps isnā€™t the stock set gray modifiers + dark gray keys?

This looks REALLY GOOD.

Love the presentation Ideas, especially the ā€œmoonrockā€

Thank you!! Yes, youā€™re right, K2 v2 has the grey keycaps, but i really wanted to try my skills on rendering black on black, so for this i created my own super custom keycap set, so yeah:>

Glad you like it, thanks! It was a really random idea, but i kinda happy how it turned out, though lighting for this shot was the hardest thing ever.

I donā€™t care about how you model this. But the lighting looks insane :scream:

Congratulations, this work has been nominated for the ā€˜Best of Blender Artists 2022ā€™ award in the #technology category! You can vote for it here.

Dear Mark,

What an amazing job you have done there. I use the K2 my self, and I must say it looks more real than the real thing!! Just one question though, would you be kind enough to share the Blender file?? I am just starting out with Blender and this just for my own personal learning process. Pretty please??

R.

Good Job, Too bad we canā€™t see the mesh
