Kinect, OpenNI

Is there a way of taking kinect skeletal tracking data and importing it into blender (as a bvh possibly)
(BTW mac osx solutions would be appreciated)

Look at this software - you can use it with MotionBuilder or as standalone to produce bvh files ( though it is for windows ).

also - for future I suggest to look at following possibility: there is interesting paper and also fine software - makehuman ( with rigs being exported to Blender ), I think, that combining them -> accurate skeleton estimation -> better motion estimation would provide really interesting results, also work by might be of some help
