It’s not Prachett’s new book but Halina Konopacka, who won first ever Polish Olympic gold medal in discus throw. She did it in Amsterdam, 1928. No doubt she was a Polish woman of gold and Poland won the total of five medals then. Konopacka wore a red beret.
