Ladybug covered in dew

I’m experimenting with macrophotography-style renders, and threw together this render.

Here’s a clay render showing the mesh and lighting setup:

The raw render, before any post-processing:

Something interesting I noticed while trying to do this sort of macrophotography-style render was that it was really broken into two stages. All the setup and lighting came first, and then all the “macro” stuff came after. Before I started working on the macro effect, it looked basically like this:

The macro stuff came with the added depth of field, floating particulate, volumetrics, etc. I demonstrate the sort of “before after” here:

Super cool ! interesting breakdown too !

Interesting indeed how the macro feels rely mainly on camera effects, since in 3D scale is relative and not bound to physical constraints that make sense, but a refresh on that is always good !

MacroPhoto looks really like a cool area to explore even more in 3D, I’m pretty sure one can grow a lot as an artist by doing several studies like that !

Looking forward to see more cool stuff from you !
