Lagarfljót Worm - Iceland Worm Monster

I am very new to the blender Artist forum. But I have been using Blender for a year or so now. I love it and I am excited to work with it.

This piece is getting to that critical point where I need Feedback to help me see what I need to do to make it better.
I am asking for you all to help out by ripping it apart and giving great critiques.
I Still have not textured the eye and the teeth. I am open to suggestions on what would work. Cat eyes, eel eyes, bloody teeth, yellow teeth, those kinds of things are what I am looking for, but mostly I want help really making this whole piece look totally awesome.

My hope is that it conveys the size of the “monster” and the mood of Creepy and Mysterious.

I also want to give props to Andrew Price, Reynante Martinez, and Gleb Alexandrov, for all their helpful tutorials and wonderful contributions to the Blender Community.

Currently the focus of your piece is the bubbles rising from the worm’s mouth. That’s where you have the most contrast between light and dark, and the bubbles are the sharpest defined elements in the piece. Work on getting the focus back to the worm.

Some suggestions on the eyes and teeth. Whatever you do for the eye, make it very realistic. As to the teeth, you might think about non-tyranosaurus rex tooth structures for the worm. Perhaps multiple rows? If the worm is long lived, some of its teeth should be broken.

But mostly, you want your viewers to focus on the worm when they first look at the piece.

Welcome to BlenderArtists

Great critique. Thank you Orinoco!
Now that you have pointed it out, I totally see what your talking about with the focus being on the bubbles. That is definitely not what I wanted the focus to be. Excellent critque!

Please keep them coming, I really want to learn to be a great Artist and this helps out a lot.

okay, here is today’s iteration.

I still have not dealt with the teeth. but I have an eye!
