Landscape texture

What’s nice to do is to bake the texture of the unwrap. Then, you’ll allways get a new base you can paint on and bake again when you like the result. Thus working step by step and getting result from stage to stage.
I’m about testing the new texture painting of v. 2.49. If it actually does it the way i understood it should, i’ll be quite delighted!

what do u mean "bake the texture of the unwrap. " ?

Sorry for beeing late, i was pretty busy these last deays…

Everytime you’ve completed a textured material, procedural or maped, or mixed map with procedurals, you can UV unwrap the object and F10 Bake the texture in order to get a new image to map.
This allows to have a new material done with a simplification to 1 sole texture layer. Using this as a base to a new rework of your landscape allows you to add (again and again) local details or diversified appearances,
The process of baking again and reworking can be done indefinitely.

  1. its to heavy (my machine is Intel I7 920 ,6GB ram)
  2. i cant paint the grass ,cause it has children ,without children is to to to heavy
  3. splitting the plan dose not look good , its look weird when in one point
you have allot of grass and a pixel afrer no grass at all
and the ground color diffrance is to loud
  4. duplicate parts of the landscape for grass same results as 3

here is a virtual tour of this landscape
http://ye-vr.com/vr/shay/

Nice tour, a little shaky on my system, for some reason?

So are you going to finish it? Add some bottom layer to the water. Those kind of trees don’t exist in a desert. Why not add some grass to those hills? Animate the water moving (even a simple offset on the displace would do it) so as you are spinning around, you get the feeling it is not just a still image.

thank u.
it’s not suppose to be shaky , i am using firefox
i did the rendering and a friend of mine did the VirtualTour (http://ye-vr.com/ ,this is what he do for a living )

what do u mean by “Add some bottom layer to the water.”?

i will finish it , i tried to add some grass to the scene , but no matter of how small the particle is , the grass cover the tress to much (grass to long) , but i am working on something else right now more argent (http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=160256),
so i will finish it on a soon

thanks
