This is a protoplanet, a planet in the early stages of its formation. Much of the surface is covered in molten rock. A recent collision with another large body has blasted debris into orbit, which might one day form a moon like our own. Two scientific starships navigate through the hazardous rocks and dust, hoping to gain valuable information about the early stages of planet formation.
