Hi , this week I try to complete this face with high res textures & a realistic skin with the SSS , to create something realistic & good . I faked a bit the picture to see how looks a good res texures on some areas where the qualities was shitty , by applying quickly the texture . My texture res are 4096x4096 , so I will increased the to 6000x6000 & i will take time to apply the texture on the UV + adding the best skin qualities on my head . Then I will change a bit the gloss for the hair & bard . Hope you like the render that I made , I will change out soon the texture !

In photoshop , I add the better skin texture on the nose ,around of the eyes & hidden a bit some bad qualities texture on some areas . Then , I painted the overall with red color , bleu & green color to create a bit an alcoholic red skin . I added the AO , to create a bit more bright & the eyes too . So what i’m gonna do , is to create a good skin texture in high res , with a good SSS node , beacause I d’ont really know reall skin texture . I want to create an alcoholic skin with the SSS .
I think maybe the normal map for the skin is too harsh. I do not know many people with so many indents so firm into their skin.
I think the particularity of the skin is nearly there, just my two cents
Excellent. Thank you for showing those. The render has a unique look that you don’t often see in blender. As I mentioned it is much closer to classical illustration. What is your plan for this piece?
Well , I’m looking for a realistic Skin & not illustration ! i’m not really sure if i’m doing the right thing for SSS skin shader . As we can see , it looks good , but it seems not photo-realism , as you said it looks like an illustration . I will also change the skin texture , because , I want an highest detalles of skin , because the normal map seems a bit bigger on the skin . I find the bumps of the normal too big …It’s not totally finished yet !
If you are going for realism then you’ll need to redo your maps. The color/diffuse map is just too stylized. You can try photgraphing your own face from different angles or stiching together photos found elsewhere. But it’s pretty tough to create a good face texture from scratch. It can be done, it’s just not easy. You can always use a makehuman texture, or use it as a starting off point to create your own on top off it. But it’s a great start, I look forward to seeing where it goes.
I changed a bit my head . I created a new texture with a better resolution , I changed the nodes setting + I put the scene more brighter than the first image & I changed the compotion & the nodes of SSS .
I find the normal map not really realistic . I should work more on it , change the saturation of the head & finding a good intensity for the SSS + a better result for the eyes . So this is what I will change !
I changed a bit the proportion & postition of the nose & the eyes . I increased the bleu color on the eyes , I played a lot in post-pros with shadow ,AO, & light creating an extra specu, yellow light on the skin ,+ an extra red effet on the skin on some areas for the SSS on the mouth ex , then I put the brightness in the overall face & I changed the normal map . So I hope ,that you find some good changing & it seems more realistic . If you find not , tell me which point should I change on it ?
I will add a cap & I don’t know if you noticed near of the ears & the overall of the face ,but I added some fluff on it .
