I am trying to finish this model which I started over several times but confused.
Which is better practice to union objects or do topology? If topology how to create a tower (front and rear) without triangles? I tried to build the vertical stabilizers extruding but it looks ugly. If I extrude I loose loops.
Btw, if you want to have one mesh without booleans, you can try to extrude the top faces for the tail and top section. If the extrude bottom is harsh, you can double tap “G” and edge slide those vertices of the sub’s body down along the edges. So that way you can keep one mesh and blend the top sections into it. It may work, proof of the pudding
But as mentioned, a boolean can also be fine, of you dont have shading issues with it
No, I came across this image, and thought it’s not too complicated to start with then the questions had arisen.
I extruded the tail but the problem how to make smooth transition from the body to the tail, and same thing with tower it changes from zero to a shape?
