following problems:
1st where can I get a server address?
2nd where can I get an online game script? (Blender 2.58.1)
3rd how should I put the logic briks?
4th what do I do with the players? (How many players i need)
it doesn’t look bad so far but when I look at it nothing of it reminds me of lego and the background brick doesn’t really fit in with the other models but other than that nice job
oh ok that looks better now the textures sizes need to be fixed but nice job
i dont need help by the texturs. i need a ONLINE MULTIPLAYER SCRIPT for BLENDER 2.58.1 . but thank you for the tips zbryanz
I do not understand (I am German). can you post it to German? can give you a programming file? PLEAS PLEAS PLEAS
hast du eine Mischung Datei i arbeiten können?
Jey i loaded the file up
1.) your best bet would be to just use your local computer as the server as you would probably have to spend a good amount of money on a real dedicated server for something like this and I’m guessing this is just for a hobby? Using a local machine would at least allow you to continue your work and testing without having to spend money on something external.
2.) agoose’s script would also be what i recommend.
3.) This isnt really something anyone can tell you. You can put them however you want and I would suggest finding one of the many tutorials related to blender game engine. They should help you determine how your bricks should be set up.
4.) This also isn’t really something that other people can tell you and is something you should do some research and figure out for yourself. Among many other things, you have to take into account the hardware resources of your server or if it is not centrally hosted (the player hosts the game). Having too many people on at once will degrade the performance of the server but having too few people will make the online aspect pointless. Its a balancing game that you will just have to research and experiment with.
sorry my english is too bad too understand the post about the multiplayer game from the link
Ah, sorry! I sometimes forget. To put simply:
1.) Use your computer for now
2.) I agree with agoose
3.) Spend time learning blender game engine and logic bricks. We can’t much help you with this part.
4.) Start with 8 players and see how your server handles that. Then increase or decrease the amount of players.
Is this a little more clear? I tried translate but it did not come out correctly. If you need more info let me know =-)
I’ll look at it this week
looks nice, id imagine a 3rd person perspective/view would work better for the concept though, maybe have some corny lego figures for avatars. but its just a thought
thanks for the tip pez263. but I do prefer first person shooter.
I’ll look at it this week
